Gavin is interested in the ability of technology to expand access to healthcare on a global scale. In addition, he finds the unique challenges of neurology and neurosurgery to be especially intriguing for the application of artificial intelligence methods and image processing.  Since joining DGNN in 2020, he has helped construct a preliminary CT scan feature extraction model based on the Track-TBI dataset, and identify and acquire a dataset of tens of thousands of CT scans from within the Duke Health system.
